Squirrel Baffle for 4x4 Post, 17 Inch Weather Resistant Guard for Bird Feeder Pole, Black

Key benefits Keeps squirrels and raccoons off your bird feeder so birds can feed undisturbed. Large barrier prevents smaller climbing animals from reaching the feeder. Durable, weatherresistant construction stays effective season after season. What it does Designed to stop climbing animals from ascending a pole and reaching a feeder by providing a wide, sloped barrier that causes them to slip off and prevents passage. Compatibility and size Fits standard 4x4 posts (square design) and round wood poles with diameters from 3.5 inches to 4.5 inches. Large 17inch size provides a wide barrier (17inch side length across the face) to block most small animals. Material and performance Made from quality PP (polypropylene) material that is sunproof and freezeproof. Smooth, sloping surface makes it difficult for squirrels to grip; lightweight but durable and longlasting, not easily damaged. Placement and effectiveness tips Squirrels can jump vertically at least 4 feet; place the baffle a minimum of 4 feet above the ground for results. To avoid squirrels using the baffle as a springboard, position the feeder and baffle at least 8 feet away from trees, fences, roofs, or other jumpingoff points. Open placement around the pole maximizes effectiveness; obstructions nearby can render any pole baffle ineffective. Practical use scenarios Backyard platform feeder mounted on a 4x4 post: attach the baffle to the post to block squirrels and raccoons from climbing up to seed trays. Hanging feeder on a round wooden pole (3.5–4.5 in diameter): secure the square baffle to the pole to create a slippery barrier below the feeder. Feeding station in raccoonprone areas: install at recommended heights and clearances to reduce nighttime raiding by raccoons.
