This replacement hood release latch is a repair for the part number plastic latch which can often crack and break off the cable. It can be installed in 5 to 10 minutes. This sale is for the replacement latch handle only, not for the entire cable. Machined from a solid block of aluminum. Standard cable replacement typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. This replacement latch can be installed in minutes. Installation requires removal of the corner plastic kick plate. Approximately 1 inch of the remaining plastic must be trimmed from the cable using wire cutters. (See photo.) Slide the new latch onto the cable, tighten the two set screws, reinstall the corner plastic kick plate, and installation is complete.
