ERODIUM manescavii \nMore commonly known as Storks Bill or Herons Bill. \nErodium manescavii is a clump forming perennial with pinnate mid-green leaves often up to 30cm long. \nFeathery and fern like, the foliage is slightly hairy to the touch. \nFrom June to September Erodium manesavii produces clusters of dainty magenta-pink flowers. \nHeld above the finely divided leaves on long stems the blooms bear a strong resemblance to the flowers of Hardy Geranium or Cranesbill to whom it is related. \nDead head Storks Bill regularly by pulling the spend flowers off the plant rather that cutting them off, this encourages further flowering. \nWith a height and spread of 45cm x 45cm it finds use in the herbaceous border and also makes good ground cover. \nAdored by bees Erodium manescavii thrives in full sun in well-drained soil. \nVery easy to grow, it is frost hardy, drought tolerant and suitable for seaside planting. \nRoyal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). \nAll pictures  of Storks Bill used are of mature plants in bloom and are for illustration purposes only.
