The unit uses power MOSFETs as electronic switches with no mechanical components and includes an industrial-grade STM8 microprocessor to help extend battery life cycle. The LCD display shows charging and discharging parameters for PV, battery, and load, with backlight for easy viewing. Dual USB ports provide up to 5V/2.5A output for charging small electronic devices. This solar charge controller supports lithium-ion, lithium iron phosphate, and lead-acid batteries (including OPEN, AGM, and GEL types). It includes multiple load timing functions (load must be DC) and automatically detects day and night conditions. To protect battery health, the controller will automatically disconnect when battery voltage drops below 8V. Protection features include dual MOSFET reverse current protection, overheat protection, under-voltage discharge protection, short circuit protection, open circuit protection, overload protection, and power-off memory protection. When the battery voltage drops below 8V, the unit will shut down automatically (LCD display will also turn off). Connection sequence: 1. Connect the battery to the charge controller’s positive and negative terminals 2. Connect the photovoltaic module to the controller’s PV positive and negative terminals 3. Connect the load to the controller’s load positive and negative terminals Note: Reverse the order when disconnecting. Incorrect connection sequence may damage the controller.
