It stays for about 2 seconds and then the green LED goes out. If there is a loop failure, the channel LED will illuminate and flash to indicate a fault. If the fault is self-healing, the detector will continue to run. The green channel LED will also illuminate as soon as the vehicle is detected to pass through the inductive loop. The red power LED on the top of the unit will remain lit, indicating that the unit is powered.
