Enhanced axle removal This CV axle removal tool offers an alternative to conventional pry bars by facilitating easier extraction of the CV axle. It helps prevent damage to the roller bearing within the joint and is specifically compatible with Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models from 1986 onwards. Simplified application Attach this CV joint fork removing adapter to your slide hammer with 5/8 inch x 18 threads to expedite the removal process. It is designed to fit behind the inner boot of the axle, utilizing the force generated by the slide hammer for quick removal. Compatibility and fit Features 5/8 inch x 18 threads; engineered to work behind the inner boot of the axle; compatible with Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models from 1986 onwards. Use scenarios 1) Replacing a CV axle on a 1986 or newer Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable. 2) Removing the CV joint fork behind the inner boot using a slide hammer to speed up the process. 3) Servicing front axle assemblies where minimizing risk to the roller bearing during removal is a priority.
