Made from high-quality magnesium material, this magnesium anode rod attracts and absorbs corrosive elements and contaminants in the water through electrolysis, helping to prevent rust and corrosion in metal water tanks and extending the life of your RV water heater. These magnesium anode rods are more effective than aluminum alternatives in protecting your water heater tank from corrosion, ensuring longer service life. By attracting impurities in the water, the anode rod sacrifices itself to protect the tank. If the rod becomes depleted or fully corroded, the water heater tank may begin to rust, crack, fail, and leak. These magnesium anode rods are 4.5 inches (115mm) long, 0.5 inch (13mm) in diameter, with 1/2-inch threads, and are designed to fit standard water heaters. To drain the tank, unscrew the anode rod.
