Usage Tips: Made from high-quality magnesium material, this magnesium anode rod attracts and absorbs oxidizing substances and contaminants in water through electrolysis, helping to prevent rust in metal water tanks and extending the life of your RV water heater. These magnesium anode rods function by attracting corrosive elements in the water, similar to aluminum anodes, protecting the water heater tank from corrosion and increasing its lifespan. By drawing harmful elements to itself, the anode rod helps prolong the life of the water heater. Once the rod is significantly depleted or fully corroded, the tank becomes vulnerable to rust, cracking, failure, and leaks. This magnesium anode rod measures 4.5 inches (115mm) in length, has a 0.5 inch (13mm) diameter, and features 1/2 inch threads, designed to fit Atwood water heaters. Compatible with: Atwood water heaters. To drain the tank, unscrew the anode rod. If the rod is heavily corroded, replace it. It is recommended to keep a spare anode rod on hand in your RV.
