Finding the tester's setting point: A. Place one 1.5V AA battery (positive side up) into the battery compartment on the handle. B. Hold the tester in one hand and the test stick in the other. C. Insert the cleaned metal rod into the water to the black position. D. Gently stir the water with a metal rod. E. With the metal rod in the water, turn the knob on the front of the watch in the CL direction until it can no longer move. Then slowly turn it back to the right until the pointer points to the traditional position of the result measured by the liquid test tool (e.g., 1.5). F. Remove the test rod from the water, being careful not to move the knob. The pointer will slide to the right, stopping at a letter between A and E. This letter is the adjustment point. NOTE: The meter must be adjusted to the "adjustment point" before each chlorine test. Test pH: The recommended chlorine level for pool or spa water is 7.2 to 7.8 A) With the test stick still in the water, turn the knob in the pH direction until a beep sounds (the battery must be removed when reading the pH value).
