Citrus macrophylla, Alemow, 2-liter pot.

Discover the Alemow (Citrus macrophylla), a vigorous and graceful citrus tree with exceptional cold hardiness. With its dense, upright branches and robust appearance, this tree is not only functional but also a beautiful decorative addition to your garden or greenhouse. Why choose the Alemow? • Very ornamental and dense growth: ideal for pot cultivation, greenhouses, or sheltered spots • Strong, fast-lignifying wood with thorns – structural and striking • Lance-shaped, fresh green leaves with an exotic appearance • Produces small, light yellow to deep yellow fruits with tart-bitter flesh and aromatic skin Fruit & Flowering The fruits are usually round to slightly oval, with tangy, tart-bitter flesh and an aromatic, light skin. The flesh is bright yellow and rich in seeds. Alemow is unique as a citrus that can flower and bear fruit all year round (four-season variety), although the spring flowering peak is the most productive period. Kitchen use: Use the Alemow just like a lemon: squeeze the juice or grate the zest for a fresh twist in dishes. Ideal in salads, dressings, marinades, or as a flavoring in drinks and baking recipes. Cold Tolerance and Care This citrus is exceptionally hardy: in a greenhouse or well-protected veranda, it can withstand cold down to –12°C. Temperatures above zero make life possible, but the best results are achieved at a location above +2°C. Water moderately during winter dormancy and increase watering with alternating fertilizers (such as citrus food) between spring and early autumn. Care for the tree like an average lemon tree: well-draining, slightly acidic soil, sufficient sun, and extra feeding every few weeks during the growing season. Prune only to maintain shape and remove crossing branches.
